Now in its second year, the LISTEN Conference provides a unique opportunity to engage in constructive discussion on ideas relating to gender, feminism, creativity, intersections within communities, writing, performance and more. The 2016 Conference will provide a platform to reflect on new ways to nurture diversity and creativity and continue to enquire into Melbourne’s world-renowned music community.

This year’s panels cover issues ranging from artists’ ongoing relationships to music making, the pros and cons of ‘call out culture’, race and sexism in music, gender binaries in music and art and much much more.

With a focus on inclusivity, LISTEN Conference will feature affordable ticket prices with a variety of options as well as Auslan interpreting, childcare services, and disability access. One day and three day tickets available via the Bella Union website with 10% of ticket sales being donated toWarriors of the Aboriginal Resistance – WAR and Sisters & Brothers

– This event will take place on stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded –

This project is supported by the City of Melbourne 2016 Arts Grants Program and Creative Victoria’s Music Works Grants Program.
